Easter is about three weeks away . . . Let the Lamb make the reservation, not the bunny!
Easter Sunday has been one of my favorite days for as long as I can remember. As a child, it was all about the Easter bunny, hiding Easter eggs and having a great time with the family all day. All the attention was on the bunny bringing us a basket to use during the Easter egg hunt with our cousins.
Prior to the picnic, we wore our best clothes to Our Lady of Fatima for a crowded Easter service. Afterwards, we had pictures taken of us with squinting eyes as the Arizona sun was so bright. Do you remember those days as a kid when the photo taker had to have the sun behind them? It was difficult to hold a smile when the sun was blinding me.
As an adult, one of the things about going to a restaurant after the Easter service was you had to wait . . . even when you had a reservation.
As a Child of God, my focus has changed and now, I celebrate the Lamb of God rather than a bunny. The Good News about Easter is Jesus has resurrected and has cleansed us of our sins so we can get to Heaven. The Better News is He is coming back for us; He is praying for us in Heaven, and He is preparing a place that we can enter without having to make a reservation. There will be no waiting to eat in an overcrowded restaurant or posing for pictures with squinting eyes. Heaven is a prepared place for prepared people.
As a Christian author, my purpose in life is to tell everyone about how to get to Heaven. My third book, Golden Walk: Following Wisdom Into Heaven offers the reader hope and excitement about our transition into eternity. After all, we are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a brief human experience.
All we have to do is believe and repent. Jesus said it, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6. In Romans 10:9 it says: “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” It’s that simple; the free gift to get into Heaven without a reservation.
Make sure your name is on the list to get into Heaven. It must be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. There will be no waiting because the Lamb made the reservation, not the bunny.
