No hippos in Walmart

Below is an excerpt from Chapter 2 in Golden Walk: Following Wisdom into Heaven. This book is currently available for pre-order on Amazon. The publication date is November 10, 2021. It is a book about Trusting God and walking in a manner so we can take a Golden Walk in Heaven.

“The frog does not worry about where his next fly will come from. Have you ever seen a sparrow leaving its nest with a lunch bucket under his wing? The bee instinctively knows it will find pollen when it leaves the hive. If they do not worry, why should we? The flower does not worry about the seasons. The moon shines bright even with no power of its own. God knows what we need before we even ask for anything. We are carried in His Love, no matter what tomorrow brings. Remember to fully rely on God (F.R.O.G.) like they do, every day, every moment. Here’s something to smile about: Can you imagine the surprise the former tadpole (now turned frog) received when he zapped his first insect with his long tongue?

Did you know a hippopotamus does not have go to the store to buy sun protection lotion? That’s because God included in their metabolism the ability to produce their own sun guard. Here’s some God-given features custom-made just for the hippopotamus. Hippos spend most of their day resting in the water and can hold their breath for up to 30 minutes. They have sensitive skin, and the areas where they live can really get hot. God made the hippo in such a way that they make their own sunscreen via a secretion that looks like pink sweat. Hippos have no true sweat glands like we do, but their pores secrete a pink layer of mucus to prevent sunburn. How about that—the hippo doesn’t need to waddle over to Walmart to buy sun protection lotion.”

God loves us way more than a hippo and His Son has made a way for us to live with Him eternally. Life on earth can sometimes be difficult, but Heaven is real and there is no greater reward than the Kingdom of God.

In the book of John Chapters 13 and 14 Jesus tells his disciples of His pending death. He told them He was going to His Father’s house (Heaven) to prepare a place for them. Thomas was puzzled and said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going so how can we know the way.” John 14:5 Probably a question many of us would have asked Him if we were there.

I’m trusting on those red words in my Bible (Jesus speaking) in John 14:6: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Plain and simple answer, Jesus is the Way to get to Heaven, not one of the ways.

My trust is completely in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Do you trust the words in these two scriptures? I sure do . . . If Jesus is not the way to get to Heaven, then I am not going there.

Jesus is in Heaven watching us during this earthly walk. He prays that each of us one day will ask Him to be our Savior. He wants to walk with us so we can follow Him into Heaven. Trust God!

Will I see you there? . . . Until then, tell somebody about Jesus.
