“But those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
That was his favorite scripture – my friend and brother in Christ - Frank Garza. Last year, he died in the hospital after being intubated because he was diagnosed with that evil disease called COVID-19. I spoke to him three days before he died and he professed his faith citing the above scripture. We did not know that would be the last time we would communicate; only God knows when we will take our last breath. It was hard for me to comprehend that Frank was gone and I would not talk to him again. (Our next conversation will be in Heaven) Only God knows when each of us will take our last breath. I’m overjoyed that Frank soared into Heaven as if he were flying on the wings of an eagle.
Here’s a couple of quotes from my book, GOLDEN WALK: Following Wisdom into Heaven:
“Only God exhales His Breath of Life into a newborn baby as the infant takes its first breath. Only God inhales (takes back) His Breath of Life when we take our last breath.”
“When your yesterday’s outnumber the days you have in your tomorrows . . . You must know with certainty where you will spend eternity.”
I rejoice because my friend/brother Frank Garza was certain about going to Heaven. When Frank took his last breath, he was renewed in spiritual strength powered by God for eternity. He received strength through his Faith – that same power that rose Jesus from the dead. You can receive this same mighty power by believing in Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
They will soar, they will run, they will walk and not be faint. These verbs provide a vivid picture of the spiritual transformation that comes through faith. God is the source and initiator of our salvation. Through faith, He parts the waters and gives us a clear path into salvation. He opens the gates so we can run into His arms, just like Frank did. We will be in Heaven and there will be no more tears, only blessings and surprises beyond our comprehension. We will walk on the street of gold in perfect peace.
Are you ready to take a walk with me? I can assure you that you cannot take an Uber ride into Heaven. It is my prayer that you will join me in that Golden Walk: Following Wisdom (Jesus) into Heaven.
